TEUTOPOLIS — Effingham St. Anthony High School won a four-team boys track meet at Teutopolis Tuesday.

The Bulldogs tallied 91 points followed by Effingham 77, Teutopolis 67 1/2 and Stewardson-Strasburg 14 1/2.

Deke Devore won two events for the Bulldogs taking the long jump at 19 feet, 4 1/2 inches and the triple jump at 39-10. Matt Feldhake also claimed two victories. Feldhake won the 3200 in 10:04 and the 1600 in 4:48.

"I think the guys did a great job," said St. Anthony Coach Art Geen. "They have really been working hard in practice and it is starting to pay off for them."

T-town's Ben Worman nabbed two wins taking the 200 in 23.96 seconds and the 100 in 11.43.

Effingham's Jared Nuxoll went over the high jump bar at 6 feet, 10 inches.

In the girls meet, Teutopolis was the winner with 97 points followed by St. Anthony 80, Effingham 78 and Stew-Stras 13.

The Shoes won the 3200 relay in 11:29 and captured four individual first place finishes.

Effingham's Jena Hecht nabbed two wins taking the 300 hurdles in 51.06 and the 100 hurdles in 16.64.

St. Anthony's Megan Hoelscher won the 3200 in 12:44 and the 1600 in 6:00. Kathryn Koester won the 100 in 12.94 and the long jump at 16-4. Danielle Grunloh also was a double event winner taking the discus with a throw of 130-4 1/2 and the shot at 39-6. She set a new school record in the discus.

"We are thrilled with Danielle's throw in the discus," said St. Anthony Coach Marianne Larimer. "The sky is the limit for her in these events."
