Defense was huge on Thursday as Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City volleyball routed Ramsey, 25-14, 25-10.

Zaryah Smith and Jacque Witteborg combined for 27 digs. Smith scooped 14 and Witteborg 13. The team had 40 digs to fend off the Rams.

CHBC swung for just 12 kills and added one block, because they served up 10 aces. They had 23 attack points out of 50, (46%). They only used 8 assists for the 12 kills, getting 66.7% of the kills out of the offensive set.

Carsen Burks led the net attack with 4 kills, Smith had 3 kills and a block, and Kylee Bertin had 3 kills. Smith also had a team-high 3 aces, giving her a team-high 7 attack points, besides being part of 14 more kills with her 14 assists.

Bertin had 3 kills, 2 aces and led with 6 of the 8 assists. Lauren Wojcik and Tatyana Duckwitz were limited to one kill and 2 aces, each.
