There is a group of us that have asked the Effingham County Board to designate County Road 25 from the junction of County Road 6 south to the Moccasin Township line, "The Keith Tipsword Memorial Road." We are not asking them to change the official road.

Keith Tipsword was one of two from Effingham County killed in action on Dec. 7, 1941. Keith Tipsword's body was not recovered.

Thus far we have had the support of the VFW Altamont and Legion Post 353 Beecher City. We certainly solicit and encourage the support of all veterans, veterans organizations, fraternal and civic organizations in this endeavor.

We feel this is one way to honor one from Moccasin and Effingham County.

We have received positive feedback on this project. We hope to bring it to fruition in the near future.

We will pay for the sign and even place it under the direction of the county engineer.

We will comply with the parameters of the county board. WE would hope that the parameters would not be such as to kill the project.

We anticipate continued cooperation and support from the county board.

This is a patriotic venture to not only recognize Keith, but his fellow veterans from all walks of life.
