EFFINGHAM — Effingham County grand jury indicted last week an Arkansas man on several charges related to events of March 10 on the northwest side of Effingham. 

Kenny P. Warden, 21, of Judsonia, Arkansas, was indicted for unlawful possession of methamphetamine, a Class 3 felony; aggravated fleeing a peace officer and aggravated unlawful use of weapons, both Class 4 felonies.

Warden is accused of possessing less than five grams of meth, failing to stop and disobeying at least two traffic control devices after being given signals from an Illinois state trooper and carrying a loaded Glock 17 9-millimeter pistol with immediate accessibility. He has been ordered to appear in court at 11 a.m. Monday. He remains in jail in lieu of $100,000 bond.

The grand jury also indicted last week:

• John M. Durbin, 20, Beecher City, aggravated fleeing a peace officer, a Class 4 felony; and theft, a Class 3 felony. Durbin is accused of failing to stop for a police officer on Feb. 8 while disobeying two or more traffic lights while driving a 1991 GMC Sonoma pickup truck that he is accused of stealing that day. He has been ordered to appear in court at 11 a.m. April 6. He is free on $750 bail.

• Cody M. Welch, 18, Teutopolis, burglary, a Class 2 felony. He is accused of entering a building in rural Watson on Jan. 7 with the intent to commit a theft. He was granted a jail furlough for drug treatment on March 11. A status on that treatment is set for 9 a.m. April 2.

• Kendra L. Davis, 19, Effingham, theft, a Class 3 felony. Davis is accused of stealing assorted tools, a battery jumper and pressure washer on or about Feb. 15. She has been ordered to appear in court at 11 a.m. March 25. She remains in jail in lieu of $7,500 bond.

• Julia A. Doedtman, 44, Teutopolis, unlawful possession of credit card, a Class 4 felony. Doedtman is accused of obtaining possession of a credit card without the cardholder's consent between Jan. 25 and 28 with the intent to use the card for food, gas, lottery tickets and cigarettes. A warrant has been issued and bond has been set at $5,000.

• Kyle P. Schumacher, 28, Effingham, driving while license revoked, a Class 4 felony. Schumacher is accused of driving a 2006 Pontiac at the intersection of Keller Drive and Evergreen Avenue in Effingham on Feb. 10 while his license was revoked and with at least one prior conviction for driving while license revoked. He has been ordered to appear in court at 10 a.m. April 16. He is free on $150 bail.

• Jonathan O. Lingo, 39, Salem, deceptive practice, a Class 4 felony. Lingo is accused of writing a bad check for $2,445.19 to Weber Brothers Equipment on Dec. 22 and for $883.94 to KTD Computers on Jan. 23. His court date and bond status were unavailable at presstime.

• Aaron M. Baker, 23, Effingham, intimidation, a Class 3 felony. Baker is accused of threatening a theft victim with bodily harm on Feb. 19 in an effort to keep her from reporting the theft to police. His pretrial is set for 11 a.m. April 22. He remains in jail in lieu of $10,000 bond.

• Sarah D. Louderback, 33, Effingham, criminal trespass to real property, a Class 4 felony. Louderback is accused of entering an Effingham residence without authority on March 6. She has been ordered to appear in court at 10:30 a.m. March 26. She is free on $1,000 bail.

• Robert J. Beckler, 45, Shumway, aggravated DUI, a Class 2 felony, and aggravated DUI while license revoked, a Class 4 felony. Beckler is accused of driving a 1985 Ford pickup truck at the intersection of Illinois 32 and 1800th Avenue on Feb. 24 while under the influence and at least three prior DUI convictions and while his license was revoked and at least one prior conviction for that offense. His pretrial is set for 11 a.m. April 22. He is free on $5,000 bail.

• Matthew D. Gordon, 26, Beecher City, driving while license suspended, a Class 4 felony, and aggravated fleeing or attempting to elude a peace officer, a Class 4 felony. Gordon is accused of driving a 2000 Dodge pickup at the intersection of Illinois 33 and 600th Street on Feb. 20 while eligible for a monitored driving permit. He is also accused of failing to stop after being ordered to do so by police — and increasing his speed by more than 21 miles per hour over the speed limit. He has been ordered to appear in court at 9 a.m. March 24. He is free on $150 bail.

• Kenneth R. Fitzgerald Jr., 44, Effingham, unlawful failure to register as a sex offender, a Class 3 felony. Fitzgerald is accused of failing to notify Effingham police on Feb. 25 that he had started a new job within three days after doing so. He has been ordered to appear in court at 10 a.m. March 23. He is free on $1,000 bail.

• Webb O. Arnold, 26, Effingham, obstructing justice, a Class 4 felony. Arnold is accused of giving Effingham police a false name on March 7. He has been ordered to appear in court at 11 a.m. March 30. He remains in jail in lieu of $10,000 bond.

• Steven W. Ruffner, 56, Robinson, theft, a Class 3 felony. Ruffner is accused of making false statements to obtain less than $500 for assistance between Jan. 16 and Feb. 4. His pretrial is set for 11 a.m. April 1. He remains in jail in lieu of $7,500 bond.

• Jacob S. Bierman, 23, Effingham, deceptive practice, a Class 4 felony. Bierman is accused of writing a bad check for $675 on Feb. 26. He has been ordered to appear in court at 9 a.m. March 26.

• Quintonia C. Hopkins, 49, Rochester, Minnesota, driving while license revoked, a Class 4 felony, and aggravated DUI while license revoked, a Class 4 felony. Hopkins is accused of driving a 2013 Mazda on Interstate 57 north of Effinghamon Feb. 22 while under the influence and while her license was revoked, with at least one prior conviction for the latter. She has been ordered to appear in court at 9 a.m. April 14. She is free on $150 bail.
