Singer/songwriter Mitch Rossell will perform during the Vandalia Bicentennial Bash Saturday, June 15, from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m.
Mitch Rossell, originally from the hills of East Tennessee, is blazing a trail through the world of country music. His prolific songwriting and unique artistry has garnered the unshakable support of fans across the nation and abroad. With a tenacious work ethic and no-shortcut approach, he has laid the foundation for a promising career.
During his freshman year at Virginia Tech, Rossell discovered his passion for guitar, an instrument he picked up to honor his late father. He quickly found himself locked in his dorm room skipping classes to indulge in his newfound musical obsession. Upon graduating with a degree in Business Management from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, Rossell made the move to Nashville in 2010.
In mid 2014, Rossell’s work caught the attention of his all-time favorite artist and country music legend, Garth Brooks. Brooks is quoted saying, ”Mitch Rossell has one of those voices that spins your head around the second you hear it, but that is only the beginning. Once he has your attention, get ready for some of the best lyrics and melodies you have ever heard.”
In the summer of 2016, Brooks invited Rossell to open shows on his record-setting World Tour. With just an acoustic guitar, Rossell took the stage night after night, winning over thousands of new fans and often receiving standing ovations for previously unheard original material. In 2017, Brooks released the single “Ask Me How I Know”, written solely by Rossell. “Ask Me How I Know” reached the No. 1 spot on the Mediabase and Billboard Country Airplay charts, becoming Brooks’ first No. 1 since 2007. Rossell is also a co-writer on Brooks’ top 10 radio single, “All Day Long”.
Rossell recently signed with Wrensong Publishing, owned by Ree Guyer, a well-known and highly respected music row veteran. Guyer, honored with the CMA award for “Song of the Year” and countless other hits, has been pivotal in launching artist careers such as Old Dominion and Ashley Monroe. Rossell is currently in the studio with his highly talented and well respected producer, Brandon Hood, working on new music to be released soon.
