The Altamont man serving a prison term in connection with the heroin overdose death of an Effingham woman has been indicted on new charges by an Effingham County grand jury.

Jay C. Miller, 23, was indicted by the grand jury this week on aggravated intimidation and aggravated battery charges. Miller is accused of spitting on and hitting Christopher Miller in the Effingham County Jail visiting room on July 19.
