Noon Rotary

Effingham Noon Rotarians learned more about the life of a local boy who became a nationally known actor and producer at a recent meeting. Randy Arney, right, a native of Effingham, was bit by the acting bug after taking a buddy to a high school play audition. He has gone on to appear in television and movies, but has had his greatest success at the Steppenwolf Theatre in Chicago and the Geffen Playhouse in Los Angeles. Arney and his wife, the former Mary Ellis, also an Effingham native, have relocated — at least on a part-time basis — to their hometown. Steve Raymond, left, served as weekly program chair.
