The Effingham County Chamber of Commerce will host the First Friday Luncheon on July 12 from noon to 1 p.m. at the Holiday Inn in the Lincoln/Kennedy room located at 1301 Ave of Mid America in Effingham.

Sean Noble, Illinois State Director for ReadyNation, will be the keynote speaker at the luncheon with a topic on “Investing in a well-skilled workforce.”

Noble brings ReadyNation nearly 20 years of experience in state and federal public policy work aimed at strengthening families and boosting opportunities for kids to succeed. Previously, Noble served as policy director for the National Community Tax Coalition. Prior to that, he spent a decade directing policy, advocacy and government-relation efforts at Voices for Illinois Children.

As a former journalist, Noble spent more than a decade reporting for daily newspapers in Chicago, its suburbs, and central Illinois, where he covered a wide range of topics, including education. Noble holds a B.A. in Journalism from Northern Illinois University and a Master’s degree in Public Affairs Reporting from the University of Illinois at Springfield.

The cost of the luncheon is $15 per person and can be paid in advance or at the luncheon. Reservations are required and can be made by calling the Chamber office at 217/342-4147. The luncheon is open to the public.
