A new vision

Marion Eye Center to open this fall

EFFINGHAM — A visible change is taking place along Keller Drive in Effingham.

Marion Eye Center, which operates 33 offices throughout Illinois and Southeast Missouri, will provide a wide array of services to the community when it opens this fall.

“We pretty well do everything,” said Marion Eye Center Administrator Sherrie Eastwood.

In addition to providing eye exams, contacts and glasses, the center will provide laser treatments for those with glaucoma and macular degeneration.

A staff of ophthalmologists and optometrists will be on hand at the new location, said Eastwood. She added that the company locating here is a “natural fit” for several reasons.

“Two of our optometrists are from the Effingham area,” said Eastwood, who noted that Dr. Molly Raddatz and Dr. Debbie Hall will move back home to work in the office. “Also, we have people traveling from Effingham to Salem and Olney for their eye care. We look forward to having a location to meet the needs of the Effingham area.”

Eastwood touted features of the business that is accessible to everyone.

The organization, which has been in business for nearly 40 years, takes all forms of insurance, added Eastwood.
