---- — Anna Sophia Keller was one of the IESA's greatest athletes ever, setting eight state records before moving on to high school.Not that it was a surprise, but the success has continued at the high school level. Keller ran her first cross country race Saturday at the Metro-East Lutheran Invitational as a member of the St. Anthony Bulldogs and took home first-place. Her time of 18:08.02 was easily good enough for first, besting Red Bud junior Deanna Deterding's time of 19:17.46. All in all, Keller bested 318 other runners from 34 teams overall in heat so excessive they cancelled the boys' race. The Bulldogs finished eighth overall with a team score of 270. Decatur St. Teresa won the meet with a score of 51, taking home three top-ten finishes and no scoring times worse than 19th overall. Sophomore Carson Fonner took 30th overall with a time of 22:08.03, Sara Wortman finished in 50th in 23:45.09, Elizabeth Falconburg's time of 25:22.47 was good for 83rd and Rachel Wortman clocked in in 130th in 26:58.58.Neoga also competed, taking 19th with 548 points. Madison Butler led the Indians in 81st with a time of 25:19.14. Brittany Deters took 103rd with a time of 26.12.98, Taylor Baker finished 26:45.07 for 12rd, Madeline Gibson earned 135th in 27:03.85 and Rachel Ewing was the Indians' final scoring time in 29:16.92 in 171st. St. Anthony will compete Tuesday at Olney at 4:15 p.m. with the boys making their season debut after the Saturday race was canceled. Neoga hosts Altamont at 4:15 p.m. Thursday.
