---- — The Dieterich Movin' Maroons put the Movin' in their nickname Monday, as they constantly were circling the bases on their way to 15-0 win over Martinsville. The game was a play-in game for the Cumberland regional, with the victorious Maroons headed to face the top-seeded Pirates today at 4 p.m. Dieterich's bats were red-hot all day against Martinsville pitcher Kelly England. The Maroons (6-10) jumped out to a 2-0 lead after the first, but put the game away in a 10-run second inning where 17 Dieterich batters came to the plate, totaling nine hits in the inning."We hit the ball pretty decent," said Dieterich coach Scott Kocher. "We're used to a little quicker speed, but they figured it out. We'll take it."The offensive never let up, as Dieterich plated two more runs in the third and one more in the fourth to grab a 15-0 lead. While the offensive support was great, Heidi Thoele kept the Lady Streaks off balance all game, attacking the plate with force. Thoele struck out seven in five innings, and carried a no-hitter into the fifth inning. Rachel Ballew broke up the no-hit bid with just one out left, popping a ball up and between Sydney Higgs and Courtney Flach for Martinsville's only hit of the game. Kocher was impressed with Thoele's performance."She was firing strikes in there, and she was throwing hard," he said. "It was one of her better outings, I was happy with the way she pitched."Taylor Wright had two doubles, a single, two RBIs and two runs, Katilyn Meinhart and Courtney Flach each drove in two runs with two singles, while Megan Garbe, Thoele, Mallorie Vahling and Higgs each had an RBI on the day. Now, the Maroons prepare for top-seeded Cumberland, which will be a more difficult opponent than the overmatched Lady Streaks."(The win) builds our confidence," Kocher said. "We know tomorrow night against a team like Cumberland, we're going to see a strong pitcher and strong hitters. I told the girls tomorrow night's not going to be an easy game."The regional semifinal begins at 4:30 p.m. today in Greenup.
