---- — It was a tough day for fishing Saturday at Forbes Lake, but judging Teutopolis' Colin Niebrugge's results, he didn't get the memo. Niebrugge set a Forbes Lake Sectional record at the event Saturday, catching a 7.86 pound bass to lead Teutopolis to the state tournament. The previous record of 7.70 pounds had been set by Teutopolis' Brett Deters at the inaugural event in 2009. Teutopolis' team caught two fish for a total of 8.72 pounds to win the event. Breese Mater Dei finished second with 7.98 pounds and Centralia also advanced, finishing third with 5.75 pounds.The Wooden Shoes' team of Niebrugge, Cody Will and Collin Jansen advances to the state finals. In other local teams, South Central's two teams finished fourth and 10th, respectively. The fourth-place team registered 4.35 pounds and the 10th-place team caught 1.06 pounds of fish. Newton also finished sixth and eighth, catching 4.06 pounds and 2.70 pounds, respectively. The state finals are May 3 and May 4 at Carlyle Lake in Carlyle.
