T-town boys record first boys golf victory

Teutopolis High School evened its boys golf record at 1-1 with a 176-181 dual meet victory over Newton at Cardinal Golf Course Tuesday.

Blake Thoele medaled for the Wooden Shoes with a nine-hole round of 41, while teammate Brock Sandschafer turned in a 42. Ryan Buehnerkemper shot a 45 and Colton Brown shot a 48 to give T-town its total.

Trey Braun's 49 and Jordan Deters' 53 missed the scoring cut.

For Newton (2-2), Ethan Marshall topped out with a 44, while Ross McReynolds and Mitch Mammoser each had rounds of 45. Taylor Weishaar shot a 47, Payton Wyatt shot a 52 and Jacob Ochs turned in a 68.

At Newton

Monday

Beecher City/Altamont fell to 0-8 Monday, dropping both ends of a triangular meet at Stone's Throw Golf Course in Newton.

Newton won the meet with a team score of 172, while Casey-Westfield came in second at 189. B.C./Altamont's score was a 206, led by a 44 from Greg Sperry.

Mammoser was the medalist, shooting a 40 for Newton. McReynolds carded a 42, Wyatt shot a 43 and both Weishaar and Marshall had rounds of 47 to tie for the fourth and final scoring slot. Ochs brought up the rear with a 55.

For B.C./Altamont, Kieffer McCarron and Joey Schoenfeld each shot rounds of 52, while Ronnie Putnam scored a 58 to round out the team's total. Bryce Simcox missed out on the top four with a 70.
