Hearts win triangular meet

Effingham High School captured a girls quadrangular meet at Effingham St. Anthony Tuesday.
The Hearts tallied 97 1/2 points followed by Teutopolis 81 1/2, St. Anthony 61 and Cowden-Herrick 25.
Kierstyn Bone captured the 100 hurdles in 17.52 seconds. Tatiana Colclasure won the 3200 in 13:40 minutes. Jena Hecht nabbed the 300 hurdles in 49.84. Chelsey Watkins claimed the 1600 in 6:05. Jenna Daugherty was a winner in the triple jump with a leap of 32-1.
The Hearts were also winners in the 400 relay with a time of 53.4. Members of the team were Danielle Patton, Shayna Bushue, Nicole Howell and Ashley Bushur. EHS also won the 1600 relay in 4:26.31.
St. Anthony captured two individual titles and two relay events. Kathryn Koester won the long jump at 15 feet, 6 1/2 inches, while teammate Kendra VanSant took the pole vault at 9-3. The 3200 relay team won, while the 800 relay team claimed the win in 1:50.
Cowden-Herrick's Tia Sarver was a three-event winner. Sarver took the 100 in 13.06, the 200 in 27.12 and the 400 in 1:02.8.
