Helen Elizabeth Kemmerer, 87, of Louisville died at 12:05 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 24, 2008, at Flora Gardens Care Center, Flora.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Neal Funeral Home, Louisville, with burial in Orchard Hill Cemetery, Louisville. Visitation will be from noon until time of service at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Clay County Hospice.
Mrs. Kemmerer was born Sept. 30, 1920, in Bible Grove, the daughter of Ed and Ella (Williams) Brooks. She married Donald L. Kemmerer on May 26, 1943, in St. Charles, Mo., and he preceded her in death May 11, 2003.
She was a homemaker and member of North Harter Christian Church, rural Flora.
Survivors include her son, Philip Brooks (wife, Lavonne) Kemmerer of Louisville; daughters, Donna Jean (husband, Ron) Gambrel of Flora and Janet Elizabeth (husband, Mike) Barber of Columbia; sister, Ella Mae Dawkins of Louisville; grandchildren, Jamen Venable, Kalie (Venable) Strong, Weston Kemmerer and Austin Kemmerer; and stepgrandchildren, Ron Gambrel Jr. and Scott Gambrel.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and brother, Bill Brooks.

Mae Cook, 89, of Flora died at 12:48 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 24, 2008, at Clay County Hospital, Flora.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Neal Funeral Home, Louisville, with burial in Orchard Hill Cemetery, Louisville. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the funeral at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
Mrs. Cook was born Aug. 24, 1918, in Flora, the daughter of Orval and Ethel (Benskin) Lamb. She married Leroy Cook on May 5, 1937, and he preceded her in death Feb. 24, 1993.
She was a retired head cook for Ranch Steak House, Flora, where she worked for 10 years. She also worked for International Shoe Company in Flora for 19 years.
Survivors include her sons, Richard L. (wife, Shelby) Cook of Rinard, Orval Lee Cook and Jerry Edward (wife, Judy) Cook, both of Flora; daughters, Corinna Songer and Theresa (husband, James) Taylor, both of Clay City; sisters, Merion Burgess, Mary Wilson and Madge Hoffman, all of Flora; 26 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brothers, Orie, William, Roscoe and Ray Lamb; sisters, Mona Wilson and Myrtle Maroney; grandchildren, Eddie Cook and Kevin Brock; and great-grandchild, Dillan Songer.
