Cumberland residents arrested for arson

GREENUP — Two Cumberland County men have been arrested in connection with a rash of fires in and around Greenup.

Illinois State Police stated in a news release Levi Barnes, 21, of Greenup, and Paul McCormick, 23, of Toledo, were arrested Tuesday by the ISP's Zone 7 General Criminal Investigations Unit on charges of residential arson and aggravated arson.

Barnes and McCormick are accused of setting more than 20 fires in and around the Greenup area. Both men are being held at the Cumberland County Detention Center pending a bond hearing.
