Altamont School Board discussed facility improvements that could be possible if the proposed countywide sales tax increase were to pass.
The proposed increase, announced in late October, would add a 1 percent increase to luxury goods, such as prepared foods, clothing and electronics. It would not affect items, such as unprepared foods, prescription drugs, vehicles, farm equipment or mobile homes.
Superintendent Jeff Fritchtnitch said improvements that could be made to the district's facilities may bring new families to the Altamont community.
"Quite honestly, this is a route for growth and successful schools to attract growth," he said.
