An Effingham man was found dead Monday evening in the home he was occupying while his own home was being remodeled.
According to Effingham County Coroner Duane Guffey, preliminary autopsy results Tuesday indicate the death of Jonathan Wernsing, 30, was due to natural causes.
Wernsing had collapsed on the floor of a home at 1010 N. Henrietta St. He was found by a family member at 6:45 p.m. and pronounced dead at the scene.
Guffey said Wernsing and his wife had been staying in a relative's home while their home was being remodeled.
Guffey said no foul play is suspected in the death.
