An Effingham physician’s office visited by federal, state and local agents Wednesday will remain open, the physician said.
“We’re open. There’s no problem at all,” said Dr. Naeem Kohli, owner of the Kohli Neurology, Pain and Sleep Center, 500 N. Maple St. Kohli would not comment any further.
Effingham police Detective Tony Stephens confirmed that personnel from his office, as well as Illinois State Police, U.S. Drug Enforcement Investigation, FBI and the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Inspector General’s office were involved in the Wednesday investigation.
Stephens referred all additional comment to Special Agent Ken Wells of the Department of Health and Human Services.
Wells was unavailable for comment Thursday.
