Margaret Fearington Greenup

Margaret Louise Fearington, 87, of Greenup, passed away at 12:51 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 10, 2013, at her residence.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 14, at the Barkley Funeral Chapel in Greenup. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral chapel. Burial will be in the Island Creek Cemetery. Memorials in her name should be made to the New Hope Church. Online condolences may be expressed at www.barkleyfuneralchapels.com.

Margaret was born on March 20, 1926, in Woodson to Thomas and Maude (Gray) Hawks. She married Ray Fearington on July 3, 1951, and he preceded her in death in 1989.

She was a homemaker and had worked at the Ettelbrick Shoe Company. She was a member of the New Hope Church and the Liberty Hill Women’s quilting club.

Surviving are her daughters, Brenda Bland of Maquon, Gail (Kenny) Brummer of Jewett, Lora (Mike) Bress of Fairview Heights, Lisa Kim (Brian) Smith of Greenup; brothers, Dave Kimble of Greenup and Joe Kimble of Greenup; sister, Irene DeVore of Missouri; grandchildren Ryan Beals, Victoria Brummer, Kendra Brummer, Jakeb Smith, Quinn Bress, Izaya Smith; great-grandchildren Zane, Ashlynn & Morgan Wellbaum, Piper Abbott and Josie Beals.

Margaret was preceded in death by her parents, six brothers, seven sisters, one son Jeff Fearington and her step-father Carl Kimble, who raised her.
