EFFINGHAM — Effingham High School junior Sean Sandifer is fired up. Sitting in a boardroom at Agracel Inc. at 7:30 a.m. on a work day, dressed to the nines, he speaks passionately about business ideas and an upcoming conference.

Except for their youthful faces, you wouldn't know this was a high school CEO class full of area  juniors and seniors. Conversation in class centers around coordinating the CEO Experience 2014, which is a conference that will be held at the Thelma Keller Convention Center Feb. 12. The conference will feature a variety of local business people and various breakout sessions to highlight different aspects of business.

CEO Instructor Kent Probst said the students have been tasked with coordinating every facet of the conference, from booking speakers to marketing the event.

Sandifer, who is the managing the class' work for the upcoming CEO Experience 2014, complimented his classmates on their hard work while touting the benefits of attending the conference.

“We feel that people can benefit from this in their personal and business lives,” he said.

The event draws on the strengths of each student in putting it together.

“Certain elements of this class are applicable to when you grow up,” said Garrett Ziegler, who is handling marketing for the event. “I see the value of pairing different personalities for different tasks.”
