Communities host Halloween festivities

Local and area Halloween activities and trick-or-treat hours are as follows:

Effingham

  • Effingham Rehabilitation & Health Care Center will host a trunk-or-treat from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 31, at their location at 1610 N. Lakewood Dr., Effingham.
  • Trick or Treat Night has been set for 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 31, within the city of Effingham. Residents are asked to leave porch lights on for trick-or-treaters during that time. Parents are encouraged to dress children safely, provide adult supervision and examine all treats.

Altamont

  • Altamont Lutheran Interparish Schools Fall Carnival: The Altamont Lutheran Interparish School’s Fall Carnival will kick off with the Halloween costume contest. After the parade, activities include games, cake walk, a haunted house and lots of things for the kids to do. The Altamont High School Band will give a standing concert. Hotdogs and chili will be served from 4 to 6 p.m. Carnival ends at 7 p.m. For more information, call Gina Wolff at 618-483-3263 or Jennifer Kroening at 217-994-2106.
  • Panic in the Park Haunted Trail: Haunted Trail will be in Schmidt Park.. Cost is $5 for adults and $3 for children under 12. Special event for younger children will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 31. At that time, it will still be daylight and the “monsters” will have their masks off.
  • Trick or Treat hours have been set for 6 to 8 p.m. Oct. 31.

Beecher City

  • Trick-or-Treat hours have been set for 6 to 7:30 p.m. Oct. 31.

Brownstown

  • Trick or Treat hours have been set for 5-7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 31.

Cowden

  • Trick or Treat hours have been set for 6 to 8 p.m. Oct. 31.

Dieterich

  • Trick-or-Treat hours have been set for 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 31.

Edgewood

  • Trick-or-treat hours have been set for 6 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 31. Residents are asked to leave a porch light on for trick-or-treaters.
