EFFINGHAM — The jury trial for Christine Burr, the woman accused of killing Joe Delaney, a man who had disappeared for two years, has been pushed back to March.
State's Attorney Bryan Kibler said Tuesday the state is still waiting for motions of discovery to be returned from the State Crime Lab and would be unlikely to have the evidence back in time for a trial in February. He made a motion for the trial to be set for March.
Burr and her attorney, Scott Schmidt, offered no objection.
Burr will appear again for a pretrial hearing on Feb. 20 at 11 a.m. The jury trial is set for March 10 at 8:30 a.m.
