MATTOON — A Neoga woman was arrested after a joint investigation by Lake Land College Police and the Coles County State's Attorney's Office.
Tammy Boeser, 56, has been charged with deception. Exact nature of the charge is unavailable at this time.
An administrative assistant at Lake Land College, Boeser was terminated by the College Board of Trustees Thursday for engaging in serious misconduct and violations of board policies and college procedures after an investigation was conducted into her actions.
Lake Land has instituted changes to its purchasing and credit card procedures following Boeser's termination.
The investigation into the incident is ongoing and a statement from Lake Land said the college will continue to cooperate with the state's attorney's office in the case. Boeser is being held in Coles County Jail on $5,000 bond.
