A Mulberry Grove woman was pronounced dead following a car accident in Fayette County Thursday.
Sonia Doggett, 19, was driving north on County Road 400 E. early Thursday morning when she left the roadway on the east side at a high rate of speed, overturning several times. She was pronounced dead at the scene by Fayette County Coroner Bruce Bowen at 5:17 a.m. Two passengers were transported to area hospitals. Further details have not been made available.
Fayette County Coroner and the Illinois State Police are investigating.
Foul play not suspected
No foul play is suspected in the Thursday death of a Beecher City man.
Effingham County Coroner Duane Guffey said in a news release that a roommate found Alan C. Maxwell, 67, unresponsive in his home at about 6 p.m. Thursday. A representative from the coroner’s office pronounced Maxwell dead at about 6:30 p.m.
Guffey said it appears Maxwell died from natural causes. The coroner’s office and Effingham County Sheriff’s Department continue to investigate.
