Drivers and children injured in morning accident

An accident on Illinois-33 sent two drivers and three children to the hospital Tuesday.

Samantha March, 24, of Effingham, was driving a 1997 Chrysler four-door northbound at 7:09 a.m. Tuesday on Illinois-33 at Stone Ridge Drive, approximately two miles north of Effingham, when she prepared to turn left into Witt’s Smokehouse parking lot.

March did not see a 2011 Dodge four-door driven by Jennifer Hall, 38, of Gays, as she turned into the southbound lane. Hall’s vehicle struck the passenger side of March’s vehicle

March, along with passengers Baiden March, 3, and Aurora March, 5, was taken to St. Anthony’s Memorial Hospital with injuries. Baiden was later transferred to St. Louis Children’s Hospital. Hall and a passenger in her vehicle, Courtney Hall, 2, were also transported to St. Anthony’s Memorial Hospital.

March was cited for failure to yield while turning left.
