TEUTOPOLIS — A broken pipe damaged a locker room and a storage closet at Teutopolis High School Wednesday.
"There was some water but I wouldn't call it flooding," said Superintendent Bill Fritcher. "We've had a couple of broken pipes. They're trying to get it all resolved."
Fritcher said the water damage did not affect any classrooms and did not play a part in Unit 50 canceling school Thursday. Fritcher said he has some concerns about any further damage in the high school after Sunday's snow begins to melt and the ground begins to thaw.
"I'm going to be anxious to see in the old section of the high school if we have anymore issues," he said.
Fritcher said the water at the school has already been shut off and expects the damage to have been cleaned up and repaired by Thursday.
