It’s been a long week. Giving up fast food proved to be harder than I thought it would be. Once I couldn’t have a juicy burger or a greasy slice of pizza, I immediately craved them more than anything in the world. But, now the week is up, so I can go back to eating as much fast food as I want. Hopefully I’ve learned a lesson about moderation this week though, and won’t jump back into my habit of eating bad food every day.
I will, however, be celebrating my one week without fast food by having a burger (or two) today. In other training news, I went for a run with members of the Broken Arrow Running Club on Wednesday evening. When I woke up Thursday morning, my legs were incredibly sore. My legs continued to be sore until Saturday morning.
Fortunately, now I have some motivation to train. By the end of the year, I’d like to be able to run the entire six-mile course without feeling terrible at the end of it. I can run three miles pretty regularly, and keep up a decent pace while doing it. Six miles, on the other hand, seems to be a bit out of my reach still.
Hopefully, I can work on that and be able to keep up the next time I run with them. Other than my run with the Broken Arrow Running Club, I didn’t do a lot of training this past week. I did end up losing four pounds over the course of the week though, so it wasn’t a total loss. I wanted to lose five pounds, but four is a decent accomplishment.
Now, I just need to focus on eating better and limiting myself to an occasional fast food binge. If I can do that, the weight should stay off and I should be at my optimal training weight. This second half of this week might be the last chance I get this year to do a majority of my training outside.
It’s going to get too cold to play football and Frisbee outside soon, so I need to take advantage of 50-degree weather while I still can.Then, it’ll be time to move my training inside and settle in for the winter.
