On Oct. 8, 1955, she married Sylvan Martin Kocher, son of Daniel A. and Ella M. (Kessler) Kocher at St. Valentine’s Catholic Church in the Bend, Jasper County, her home parish, by resident pastor, the Rev. Walter Deppisch. Catherine was a faithful member of St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church, participating in the worship committee and as an eucharistic minister for many years. She embraced the role as a farmer’s wife and enjoyed gardening and the outdoors. She was a member of the Jasper County Farm Bureau women’s committee. Catherine was passionate about her country and showed her patriotic side by being involved with the Ste. Marie Post 932 American Legion Auxiliary, where she was a past president. She enjoyed spending time with her family and listening to music.

Catherine is survived by three children, Charles S. Kocher of Springfield, Rose M. (husband John) LoGrasso of Springfield and James C. Kocher of rural Newton; and five grandchildren, Daniel, Anthony, Catherine, Dominic and Teresa LoGrasso, all of Springfield.
