Laura Hollmann

ST. PETER — Laura E. Hollmann, 86, went to her heavenly home on Jan. 25, 2013. She died peacefully at home just five months after losing her husband and the love of her life, Erwin.

Laura was born on March 23, 1926, to Arthur and Bertha (Berg) Mercier in Effingham County. On Oct. 19, 1947, Laura was united in holy matrimony to Erwin Hollmann in St. Peter Lutheran Church with Rev. F.J. Duecker, officiating. The Lord blessed them with the gift of three sons and a daughter and 64 years of marriage together. Erwin preceded her in death on Aug. 12, 2012. Laura was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church where she volunteered as a braille worker and made quilts for mission work.
