Donald Henry Rieman, 77, of Effingham, passed away at 4:22 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 26, 2013, at Memorial Medical Center, Springfield, surrounded by his loving family.
A memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Bauer Funeral Home, Effingham. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until service time Saturday at the funeral home. Don was born on May 10, 1936, in Effingham, the son of John and Mathilda (Niebrugge) Rieman. He married Marjorie A. Strohl on Dec. 7, 1956. Don was a devoted, loving husband, father and grandfather. Don loved being employed as a parts manager at Effingham Truck Sales and all the people he worked with. He reluctantly retired after 45 years in 2013. Don was an avid St. Louis Cardinals and Chicago Bears fan. You could always find Don mowing his lawn and being the year round Santa for all his grandchildren. He was very involved in his children and grandchildren’s lives and enjoyed Saturdays with the family gatherings. He will be greatly missed by his wife, Marjorie of Effingham; sons, Rick of Effingham and Randy (Nancy) of Greenup; daughters, Sherry Lueken and Pam Rieman, both of Effingham, Melissa (Paul) Antrim of Stewardson, and Mandy (Gene) Cook of Greenup; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; five stepgrandchildren; and 12 great-stepgrandchildren; brothers, Robert (Linda) Rieman of Teutopolis and Steve (Barb) Rieman of Sigel; and sister, Linda (Terry) Campbell of Paris.
