---- — Helen K. Bright, 62, of Neoga, passed away at 5:05 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 20, 2013, at St. Anthony’s Memorial Hospital, Effingham.

Mass of Christian burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Michael the Archangel Church of Sigel, with the Rev. Sunder Ery and Sister Pat Thies, officiating. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at St. Michael the Archangel Church, with a 6:30 p.m. wake service at the church. Burial will be in St. Michael Cemetery, Sigel. The family requests in lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Cancer Research for Ovarian Cancer. Swengel-O’Dell Funeral Home, Neoga, is in charge of arrangements. Helen was born Jan. 30, 1951, in Effingham County, the daughter of Leon and Marcella (Lohman) Kaufman. She was a member of the St. Michael the Archangel Church of Sigel. Helen married Michael Bright, Sept. 15, 1973, in Green Creek. Michael and Helen had just celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary. Helen worked in the in the Bindery Department of World Color Press in Effingham.

Mrs. Bright leaves her husband, Michael Bright of Neoga; two sons, Chris Bright and wife Jetta, and Nick Bright, all of Neoga; three brothers, David Kaufman, Mark Kaufmann and Melvin Kaufman, all of Green Creek; two sisters, Jane Goeckner and husband Ed, and June Probst and husband Rich, all of Bishop Creek; and one grandson, Bentley Bright of Neoga.

Mrs. Bright was preceded in death by her parents.
