---- — Jane Dittamore of Effingham passed away at 4:50 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 15, 2013, at Evergreen Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Effingham.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Johnson Funeral Home, Effingham, with the Rev. Dr. Joe Scheets officiating. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Effingham. Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home prior to the services. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials may be made to Shriners Hospitals for Children. Jane was born in Jasper County, the daughter of John E. and Bessie (Romack) Jones. She married Joseph H. Dittamore on Jan. 2, 1949, at Falmouth Methodist Church, Falmouth, and he preceded her in death on Dec. 23, 2010. Jane enjoyed roller skating, ballroom dancing and bowling, and in later years, quilting at church and bingo with the ladies at Culver’s. She was a member of Centenary United Methodist Church, Effingham. Jane loved her family which included her faithful dog, Barackie.
Jane is survived by her sons, Jerry L. (Dana M.) Dittamore of Charleston, and Jeffrey L. Dittamore of Columbia, Mo.; granddaughter, Ashley L. Dittamore, a sophomore at the University of Missouri in Columbia, Mo.; and brother, Leo (Marion) Jones of Newton.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Joe; son, Joseph L. Dittamore (lost at sea); and four brothers.
