Dwayne M. Boone, 74, of Edgewood, died at 12:16 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 19, 2013, in his home.
Visitation is from 3 to 5 p.m. Saturday at Pagel Funeral Home, Edgewood. A private family committal will follow. Memorials are requested to Cancer Care Unit in Effingham.
Dwayne was born on Nov. 18, 1938, in Mason Township, the son of Glen H. and Clementine A. (Bushue) Boone. He married Gwendolyn D. Harper on Nov. 10, 1963, at Edgewood Christian Church.
He was a farmer and a U.S. Army Veteran. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, and liked to invent things. Dwayne loved to be with his family.
Surviving are his loving wife, Gwendolyn of Edgewood; daughters, Kara (husband, David) King of Imperial Beach, Calif., and Amy (husband, Brad) Tarr of Newton; brother, Urban (wife, Louise) Boone of Edgewood; sisters, Reta Zumbahlen of Watson, Lucille (husband, Jim) Koester of Teutopolis, Carolyn Maluchnik of Valdosta, Ga., Linda (husband, Dave) Wheeler of Temecula, Calif., Avanell (husband, Don) Haarmann of Crest Hill, and Ruth Ann (husband, John) Lloyd of Stillwater, Okla.; and four grandchildren, Mitchell Boone Tarr and Nicholas Scott Tarr, both of Newton, and Eddie Boone King and Devon Harper King, both of Imperial Beach, Calif.
He was preceded in death by his parents; father and mother-in-law, Dale and Lois Harper; and brother-in-law, John Maluchnik.
