Viola M. Engelbart, 89, of Montrose, went to be with the Lord on Thursday morning, Sept. 12, 2013 at St. Anthony’s Memorial Hospital, Effingham.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Wheeler, with the Rev. Stephen P. Gillet officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday at Hall Funeral Chapel, Effingham, and 30 minutes prior to the service time Sunday at the church. Viola was born Nov. 21, 1923, in Sigel, the daughter of Frank and Emma (Czerwonka) Bushur. She married Norman Engelbart on Dec. 5, 1944, and he preceded her in death. Viola was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Wheeler, St. Paul’s Ladies Aid and Jasper County Farm Bureau.
Survivors include her son, Gary (wife, Cherie) Engelbart of Montrose; grandsons, Jon (wife, Valarie) Engelbart of Montrose and Matt Engelbart of St. Louis; and great-grandson, Xavier Engelbart.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Norman.
