---- — David R. Niendiek, 62, of Teutopolis, passed away Thursday, Sept. 5, 2013, at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Hall Funeral Chapel, Effingham. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral chapel with a 6:30 p.m. K. of C. rosary. Burial with military rites will be in St. Francis Cemetery, Teutopolis. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the donor’s choice. Online condolences may be left at www.hallfuneralchapel.com.
David was born on Nov. 25, 1950, in Teutopolis, the son of Frank and Emma (Probst) Niendiek. All of his life, David was engaged in agriculture, by being a dairy and grain farmer. He also served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. David was a member of the Teutopolis American Legion Post 924, Teutopolis Knights of Columbus Council 2874 and the Effingham County Farm Bureau.
Survivors include his daughter, Allison Niendiek of Olathe, Kan.; brother, Jim (Laura) Niendiek of Teutopolis; two sisters, Mary Jane (Edwin) Mattix of St. Elmo, and Doris (Joseph) Verdeyen of Lillyville, rural Effingham.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
