---- — Duane A. Feldhake, 45, of Effingham, passed away at 6:23 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 4, 2013, at St. Anthony’s Memorial Hospital, Effingham.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Bauer Funeral Home, Effingham. Burial will be in St. Anthony Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until service time Monday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Effingham County Humane Society or to the donor’s choice. Online condolences may be left at www.bauerfh.com.
Duane was born Oct. 25, 1967, the son of Albert and Anna (Greger) Feldhake. He spent most of his life in a wheel chair as a paraplegic but was able to live alone. Duane attended St. Anthony Grade School and 3 ½ years at St. Anthony High School, but graduated from Effingham High School with the class of 1986.
Duane is survived by his mother, Anna of Effingham; sisters, Gail (Terry) Kraft of Effingham and Mary (Elmer) Lawyer of Pesotum; brothers, David (Kelly) Feldhake and Donald (Pam) Feldhake, both of Effingham, and Daniel (Sandy) Feldhake of Edgewood; stepsister, Vicki (Todd) Probst of Wheeler; stepbrothers, David Sparling of Effingham, and Tom (Mary) Sparling of Topeka, Kan.; and many nieces and nephews.
Duane was preceded in death by his father, Albert; stepfather, Pearly “Tom” Sparling; sister, Deborah Alldredge; grandparents, Ralph and Elsie Hook, Frank Feldhake and Robert and Florence Brady.
