Mrs. Browning was born on June 7, 1921, in Seven Hills South Muddy Township in Jasper County, the daughter of William and Stella (Martin) Dow. “Mom was a devoted loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She appreciated the simple things in life. She loved to cook, bake, play bingo, play cards and go fishing. There was always something delightful and delicious cooking at Mom’s house. She made the best pies and homemade bread you could ever hope to eat. She was an avid gardener and loved flowers. Her quilts were so beautiful, she always made it look so effortless, we are fortunate to have many to cherish. She had a sharp wit. She passed on so much knowledge to future generations. Most of all she loved spending time with her family. She loved her family at Heritage Place too, as they loved her. She will be so greatly missed.”
She is survived by sons, Larry Joergens and Lawrence (Brenda) Joergens, both of Florida; daughter, Janet (Richard) Hilleary of Alaska; stepson, Gene (Anna) Browning of Alaska; sister-in-law, Ruth Reeter of Illinois; daughter-in-law, Barbara Dembinski of Illinois; grandsons, Eric (Marcia) Joergens of Kentucky, Mike (Fadi Abdel) Hilleary of Nevada, Richard Hilleary of Wisconsin, and Donnie Duncan of Texas; granddaughters, Janice Joergens of Illinois, and Carrie (Terry) Granger of Florida; great-grandchildren, Claudia Joergens, Gabrielle Abdel-Hilleary, Riley and Aubrey Granger, and River Duncan; and many, many nieces and nephews who were dearly loved.
