---- — Lester L. Bodeker, 71, of Altamont, died at 4 a.m. Friday, Aug. 23, 2013, at home with family at his side.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Gieseking Funeral Home, Altamont, with the Rev. Clayton Vail officiating. Burial will be in Union Cemetery, Altamont. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Memorials are requested to Lincolnland Hospice, 1004 Health Center Drive, Suite 202, Mattoon, IL 61938. Lester was born on Sunday, Aug. 23, 1942, in Chester, to Adolph and Marie (Gerlach) Bodeker. He married Patsy Ford on Jan. 16, 1964, in East St. Louis. He was a U.S. Army veteran, member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Altamont, and he was retired from World Color Press in Effingham.

He is survived by his wife, Pat of Altamont; son, Keith Bodeker of Altamont; daughter, Kim Harvey of Effingham; sister, Arlene Phodrasky of Edwardsville; and two granddaughters, Stephanie Main and Sydney Harvey.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Marcy Myers.
