---- — Carolyn Elizabeth Bolander Chamberlain, 74, of Herrick, passed away Saturday, May 18, 2013, at Barnes-Jewish Hospital, St. Louis, surrounded by family.
Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m.Thursday at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Ramsey. Burial will be in Myer’s Cemetery, Herrick. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Wallace-Carroll Funeral Home, Herrick, with a 5 p.m. prayer service.
Carolyn was born to the late Andrew Bolander and Bertha Bolander Frauli Rodgers on Oct. 4, 1938, in Ste. Marie. She graduated from Eastern Illinois University with a Home Economics teaching degree. She taught at the Findlay, Tower Hill and Herrick High Schools and was a lifelong homemaker to her family. Carolyn married Ross Wesley Chamberlain on March 22, 1963; he preceded her in death in 2008. They were married for 45 years. Carolyn was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church of Ramsey and the Herrick Home Extension. She enjoyed many hobbies including gardening, reading, researching genealogy, crafting and spending time with family. She will be dearly missed by family and friends.
Carolyn is survived by her five children, son, Jim Chamberlain of Herrick, daughters, Jody (Chris) Dirks of Rochester, Sheila (Alan) Anderson of Argenta, Shirley (Bruce) Bryant of Chatham, and Connie Chamberlain (fiance, D.J. Klauser) of Madison, Wis.; and grandchildren, Christian and Megan Dirks; Jessica and Sarah Anderson; Kara, Jenna, Courtney and Curtis Bryant.
Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents, Andy and Bertha; husband, Wesley; and grandson, Justin Raciti.
