---- — Charles E. Walls, 85, of Bryan, Ohio, passed away Tuesday, May 21, 2013, at Community Hospitals and Wellness Centers, Bryan, where he had been a patient.
The family will receive relatives and friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the Oberlin-Turnbull Funeral Home, Greenisen Chapel, 225 E. High St., Bryan, Ohio. Services and interment will be private for the family. In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider memorial contributions to the family of Charles E. Walls. Chuck was born July 24, 1927, in Effingham, to the late Sanford and Bernice (Becker) Walls. He served in the National Guard for four years. He married Rosemary Eileen Shadwell on Aug. 31, 1946, in Effingham, and she survives. Chuck had worked for Bard Manufacturing for 34 years, retiring in 1999. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, traveling and watching NASCAR. He followed Dale Earnhardt until his passing and then he was an avid Dale Earnhardt Jr., fan.
Surviving is his wife, Eileen of Bryan; four daughters, Jo Ann Wernsing of Bryan, Kay (Tom) Brown of Gallipolis, Ohio, Patsy (James) Moon of Montpelier and Beth (Steve) Youse of Concord, Calif.; nine grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter.
He was preceded in death by his four brothers, Ray, Terry, Dale and Billie Walls; and two sisters, Dorothy Walls and Carrie Walls.
