---- — Scott “Hoss” Westendorf, 34, of Batesville, Ark., formerly of Teutopolis, died Saturday, May 18, 2013, at his home.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Francis of Assisi Church, Teutopolis. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Johnson Funeral Home, Effingham. Burial will be in St. Francis Cemetery, Teutopolis. Memorials may be made to the donor’s choice. Online condolences may be left at www.johnsonandsonsfh.com.

Scott was born on May 7, 1979, in Effingham, the son of Donald and Karen (Bourgeois) Westendorf. Scott was a correctional officer at the Department of Corrections McPherson Unit in Newport, Ark. He was a member of the White River Chapter of the Law Dogs in Batesville, Ark. He was a member of the St. Francis of Assisi Church in Teutopolis.

Scott is survived by his wife, Misty Westendorf of Batesville, Ark.; parents, Donald and Karen Westendorf of Teutopolis; daughters, Samantha (Zach) Paschal of Batesville, Ark., and Hayle Smith; son, Marion Smith; brothers, Doug Westendorf, Kurt (Danielle) Westendorf, and Craig Westendorf, all of Teutopolis; granddaughter, Raegyn Paschal of Batesville, Ark.; several nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Florence and Bernard Westendorf and Jim and Marcella Bourgeois; and granddaughter, Remington Paschal.
