---- — Charles E. Teague Jr., 82, of Altamont, died at 4:03 p.m. Friday, May 10, 2013, at his home, surrounded by his family.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday at Gieseking Funeral Home, Altamont, with Troy Kurtz officiating. Burial with military rites by Gieseking-Schwerdtfeger VFW Post 7676 will follow in Union Cemetery, Altamont. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until service time. Mr. Teague was born Thursday, July 24, 1930, in San Antonio, to Charles E. and Susie Earnest Teague Sr. He married Marilyn Rummel Miller of Dec. 12, 1979, in New Shawneetown, and she survives.
He was a member of Lighthouse Baptist Church, Altamont, and American League Post 106 in McLeansboro. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. He worked as an insulator, a bartender and a saw mill operator.
Charles is survived by his wife of Atlamont; sons, Charles (Dee) Teague of Hurst, Texas, and Richard (Pam) Miller of Park Hills, Mo.; daughters, Donna (David) Satafford of Fort Worth, Texas, Cindy (Rob) Evans of Yucca Valley, Calif., Cheryl (significant other, Mark Craddock) Godwin of McLeansboro, Susan Miller (and her son, Jay) of Altamont, Kimberly Winkles of Decatur and Julie (Greg) Jamerson of Effingham; brother, Robert Teague of Longview, Texas; sister, Hazel Lenard of McLeansboro; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Teresa Kilgore; brother, James Teague; sister, Rachel Maguire; and grandson, Nicholas Winkles.
