---- — Gordon Price, 77, of Shumway, died Sunday, May 5, 2013, at his residence.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at McCracken-Dean Funeral Home, Pana, with the Rev. Randy Miller and the Rev. Steve Neville officiating.Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Gordon will be buried in Price Cemetery, Oconee, in an above ground mausoleum upon its completion. In keeping with Gordon’s wishes, everyone should wear casual attire. In keeping with what Gordon loved to do, his wishes was for everyone to gather at the United in Faith Church, Pana, immediately following the funeral service for dinner and fellowship. He was born May 8, 1935, in Herrick, the son of Malcolm and Blanche Cook Price. Gordon attended Pana High School, completing his eleventh year. He was born in Herrick, and had lived in Shelbyville, Tower Hill, Oconee, Pana, Effingham and Shumway. Gordon was a professional cattle buyer and auctioneer. He started buying livestock and auctioneering at age 12. He was a successful owner and operator of several businesses throughout his life. He built the Shelbyville Sale Barn, owned and operated the Pana Sale Barn, and designed the Salem Auction barn. He also had the livestock buying station in Shumway. His work was his passion. Gordon loved horseracing, reading his Bible, entertaining and feeding people. He was also a member of the National Auctioneers Association; Illinois Auctioneers Association; Knobs Baptist Church. Gordon Price and Victoria L. Bedar were united in marriage on July 8, 1989, in Pana.

He is survived by his wife, Victoria Price of Shumway; children, Carol Spracklen and husband, Kenny, of Pana, Gene Price and wife, Kathy, of Pana, Lowell Kircher and wife, Lori, of Shelbyville, Cathy Pauley and husband, Bob, of Pana, Sharon Smith and husband, Gary, of Pana, Myron Kircher and wife, Kathy, of Oconee, Michael John Kircher and wife, Cheryl, of Herrick, Brad Weakly and wife, Colette, of Highland, Laura Paruleski and husband, Dave, of Shumway, Marvin Weakly and wife, Lynn, of Elsberry, Mo., and Don Niehart and wife, Breanne, of Effingham; 35 grandchildren; 44 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; lifelong “sister,” Virginia Harbert, of Herrick; and main man, Tom Morrow, of Shumway.

He was preceded in death by his mother in 1948; father in 1989; stepmother, Mildred Price, in 1987; brother, Lee Price, in January 2013; and stepbrother, John Pope.
