---- — Betty L. Dossett, 74, of Greenup, passed away at 2:43 p.m. Saturday, May 4, 2013, at Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center, Mattoon.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at Barkley Funeral Chapel, Greenup. Burial will be in Jewett Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral chapel. Betty was born May 27, 1938, in Toledo, the daughter of Robert & Josephine (McClain) Boswell. She married Herb Dossett on Dec. 31, 1968, and he preceded her on Sept. 16, 1996.
Betty was a homemaker and worked at Kern Manufacturing in Neoga and worked at Janet’s Cafe and Saathoff’s Cafe, both in Greenup. She attended Calvary Tabernacle United Pentecostal Church in Toledo. She was a member of the Greenup American Legion Women’s Auxiliary.
Surviving is a daughter, Carolyn (Jerry) Kemper of Jewett; sons, John (Becky) Dossett of Toledo and Ron (Kim) Dossett of Jewett; brothers, Bill (Norma) Boswell of Toledo, Joe (Linda) Boswell of Louisville and Ed (Sue) Boswell of Sigel; sisters, Clara (Roger) Ervin of Newton and Debra Cordes of Mattoon; and grandchildren, Lisa Kemper of Mattoon, Steven Kemper of Rose Hill, Trey Dossett and Taylee Dossett, both of Jewett, Keil Dossett of Washington and Josselyn Dossett of Toledo.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Darrell Boswell; and sisters, Emma Lawhorn, Alice Wilson and Pat Shaw Glidewell.
