Lorene A. Stark, 96, of Newton passed away at 3 a.m. Monday, Oct. 22, 2012, at Newton Rest Haven in Newton.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, Newton, with Fr. Al Kemme celebrating Mass. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Wendelin. Visitation will be held one hour before the Mass. Arrangements are under the care of the Blake-Buchanan Funeral Home, Newton. Lorene was born April 24, 1916, in Clay County, the daughter of Theodore and Mary (Rudolph) Bahl. She married Albert Stark on Nov. 24, 1936, and he preceded her in death on Feb. 17, 1981.
Lorene was a homemaker and farmer’s wife. She was a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, Newton. She was a former member of Knights of Columbus Ladies Auxiliary.
Lorene is survived by three children, Wayne Stark of Newton, Debra (husband, David) Lingafelter of Willow Hill and Kathy (husband, Gail) Blank of Charleston; 11 grandchildren, Daniel Stark, Lori TeVault, Tammy Mitchell, Tom Stark, Jason Stark, Sherry Geier, Emily Ochs, Jessica Ochs, Camille Gordon, Erin David and Brent Blank; and several great- and great-great-grandchildren.
Lorene was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son and daughter-in-law, Jerome and Jeanie Stark; and a grandchild, Kimberly Stark.
