Iona Mae Stewman, 79, of Shelbyville, died at 3:50 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 28, 2014, in Shelby Memorial Hospital.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville with the Rev. Ron Newman officiating. Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday. Iona was born on Jan. 28, 1935, in Shelbyville, the daughter of Carl Arthur and Ruby Wanda Clevenger Fisher. She attended school in Findlay. Iona worked for Shelby Memorial Hospital and later for Walmart in Mattoon, until her retirement. She loved her cats and was an avid collector of salt and pepper shakers and Elvis memorabilia. She married Oscar M. Stewman Jr. on Nov. 28, 1968. He died on March 29, 2012.
She is survived by her children, Sheryl Reider of Shelbyville, Vickie Miller and husband Chuck of Westervelt, and Eugene Stewman of Shelbyville; brothers, Bud Fisher and wife Edna of Kennewick, Wash., and Lowell Fisher and wife Donna of Argenta; sister, Norma Smith and husband Phil of Cowden; sisters-in-law, Ursla Stewman of Georgia and Barb Johns of Westervelt; grandchildren, Raymond Amerson and wife Sara of Mattoon, Wesley Amerson of St. Louis, Matthew Amerson and Beth Coventry of St. Louis, Christopher Miller of Shelbyville, Shannon Keppler of Shelbyville, and Shelby Stewman of Reddick, Fla.; and great-grandchildren, Jaden Amerson, Makenna Durbin, Ivie and Camain Miller, Marcus, Rhiannon and Skylar Skinner, and Gavin Keppler.
She was preceded in death by her parents; stepfather, Albert Johns; husband, Oscar Stewman Jr.; two children, Valerie and Kenneth Reider; brother, Jim Johns; brother-in-law, Terry Stewman; sister-in-law, Charlene Holley; and her beloved Tiffany.
