---- — Donald R. Kimery, 80, of Neoga, died at 1:50 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 23, 2014, at St. Anthony’s Memorial Hospital, Effingham.
Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at Swengel-O’Dell Funeral Home, Neoga, with the Rev. H. B. Senter officiating. Burial will be in Neoga Memorial Cemetery with military services conducted by the VFW Post 4325 of Mattoon. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until service time Sunday at the funeral home.

He was born Sept. 12, 1933, in Neoga, the son of James and Mabel M. (McNunn) Kimery. Don was a member of the United Pentecostal Church of Neoga, and he graduated from the Neoga High School.
He was a former machinist for the Columbia Machine Company of Mattoon, he served in United States Army during the Korean War. Don married Zella Lucille Browder, Aug. 5, 1967, in Benton, and Zella passed away July 18, 2006.
Don leaves one son, Kevin D. Kimery and granddaughter, Kasey of Pearl, Miss.; one daughter, Gloria A. Kimery of Effingham; six stepchildren, H. Wayne Modglin and wife Debbie of Neoga, Wesley Modglin and Rich Green of Farmington Hill, Mich., Hal Modglin of Pollock, La., Mary Ellen Giles and husband Ron of Evansville, Ind., Caroline Seay of Bellingham, Wash., and Barbara Arnold and husband Enoch of Champaign; nephew, James Kimery and wife Marilyn of Mattoon; 14 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren; and three stepgreat-grandchildren. Don was preceded in death by his parents; wife Zella Kimery; one daughter, Kathy Kimery; and one brother, James Kimery.
