Dustin “Bub” Blake Burgess, 30, of Beecher City passed away at 8:04 a.m. Saturday, June 8, 2013, at his residence.
A celebration of Dustin’s life will be held at 7 p.m. today, June 12, at Lockart-Green Funeral Home, Beecher City. Visitation will be from 5:30 p.m. until service time today at the funeral home. He was born Dec. 5, 1982, in Mattoon the son of Edwina Eileen Zarate and Johnny Ray Burgess. He was a member of the Mid-Southern Illinois Bully Breed Club and operated Wolf Creek Pits.
Surviving are his daughters, Helena Eilee Rose Burgess and her mother, Juanita Carver of Imperial, Mo., and Jalizah Rayne Burgess and her mother, Kasey Schlanser of Beecher City; mother Edwina Zarate of Beecher City; grandparents, Jim and Ronda DuBridge of Farina; aunts, Stefane Smith (Randy) of Cowden, Shelle Sloan (John) of Beecher City and Stacey Bowlin (Jamie) of Effingham; and several maternal and paternal cousins, aunts and uncles.
He was preceded in death by grandmother, Mary Alice Pocrnich Blankenship and husband, Junior Blankenship; grandmother, Wanda Mae Pocrnich Clough and husband, Carl Clough; and his great-grandparents, Eileen and Edwin “Buss” Barr.
