---- — Rhonda Kay (Wilson) Ping, 52, of Yale, passed away at 4:54 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 17, 2013 at St. Anthony’s Memorial Hospital, Effingham.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at the Blake-Buchanan Funeral Home in Newton with Rev. Stephen Willis officiating. Burial will be in the Debord Cemetery north of Yale. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. In loving memory of Rhonda, memorials may be made to Rhonda’s grandchildren’s education fund. Rhonda was born on June 7, 1961 in Effingham, the daughter of Merle E. and Margaret Ann (Weems) Wilson. She married William “Bill” Ping on Oct. 23, 1982 in Yale, and he survives.
Rhonda was a CNA and enjoyed working in the local nursing homes. She also worked at Hardee’s in Newton for a few years. Rhonda loved her family and especially loved being a grandmother. Rhonda enjoyed attending car shows and going to drag races.
Rhonda is survived by her husband of 31 years, Bill Ping of Yale; children, Rusty (Mindy) Rich of Effingham, Nichole (Clint) Robbins of Vandalia, Courtney Ping of Yale and Jessica Loyd of Olney; grandchildren, Tanner Robbins, Carter Robbins, Tucker Robbins, Brailynn Ping, Kierrah Rich, Kaylee Rich and Tyson Rich; brothers, Rick (Rick McSchooler) Wilson of Robinson and Rodney (Debbie) Wilson of Oblong; and mother-in-law, Deloris Ping of Yale. One nephew and five nieces also survive.
Rhonda was preceded in death by her parents; and a grandchild, baby Rich.
